PostSubject: Paul Abadjian enjoys the recent Bilbao-Majorca-Barcelona Tour   Wed Nov 02, 2011 7:25 am

I had a selection of images sent to me the other day from our MK10 Project car owner of "The Blue Whale"
more on that tomorrow……

Here is some text and images from Paul………………….

Fiona and Paul Abadjian have for some years now been assistant organisers of Classic Jaguar Touring tours, which are an off-shoot of the tours and team that used to organise tours for the XK Club and E-Type Club.

In the past few years we have been down through the Pyrenees and around the northern Spanish Mediterranean coasts a few times, as well as to Argentina, shipping the cars via Buenos Aires, and driving from the Andes to the Atlantic coast and that back towards the Andes in a circular route across Patagonia. Next year we are driving in New South Wales and over to Tasmania, for about 3 weeks. The tours are a careful mix of culture, cars and relaxation, and the participants tend to book from one tour to the next, so its rather like travelling with good friends each time.

The photos show the most recent trip, which finished at the beginning of October, and we went from Bilbao to Barcelona, and then across to Majorca, where we were on the island for 6 days. A beautiful island, with lots to see, and some great driving roads. We ended up at La Residencia, a quirky and stylish luxury hotel that belonged to Richard Branson for quite a few years. Two of the rooms even had their own full size swimming pools-so we weren’t roughing it!

One of the principal aims of Ricardo Galvani, ex owner of Cambridge Motorsport, and principal of Classic Jaguar Touring is to raise money for charity through the tours, and thus far he has raised more than £100,000, which has mostly gone to Plan children’s charities. There has been a school built in central America purely from the funds raised by Classic Jaguar Touring tours.

I have attached a few more photos of Bilbao-Majorca and Barcelona taken on the tour to add to the flavour!

Best

Paul

PS I may follow up sometime with stories and photos of the Red Rock Rallye (the spelling is theirs, not mine!), which runs down through Utah and Arizona, and which I have now done 13 times! Truly stunning driving country. (We look forward to hearing about this)
