Am I right that the MK10 had a LSD , if so why was this deleted for the 420G ?

Thanks Alan S.S.O.C

Alan,
Why do you say this was deleted??? To my knowledge:
The rear axle was a SALISBURY HYPOID LIMITED SLIP across the entire range, from the mark 10 3.8 litre to the 420G.

Not to my knowlege Charles , only fitted to MK10 and then returned to a normal diff for the 420G . My car has the original diff and that's not a LSD .

Asked this question on the JWM Forum , reply came it was not an optional extra , but what I would like to know is why ?

Alan, yes I see where you are coming from: let me elaborate, What I wrote earlier holds true, but from chassis no. G1D 54476 RHD The limited slip "Powr lock Differential was deleted from the final drive unit of 420G cars in favour of a conventional differential. However I cannot shed any light as to the reason at this stage.

Charles ,
it's a strange one , why fit to only a few then revert to conventional ? if a change was to be made surly the time would have been right at the introduction of the 420G .

I shall investigate further .
