 Heated Rear Windows

PostSubject: Heated Rear Windows   Tue Aug 24, 2010 3:18 am

The car I veiwed yesterday had a heated rear window, I was told two wires come out the glass
but these were damaged when the rubber seal was changed and the window didnt work Sad

Any knowledge \ tips advice on this appreciated scratch study

Clive,
It will be necessary for you to ascertain where the break in the wire has occurred.
If you are able to see the wires under the rear parcel tray bulkhead by removing the trim locally and looking for a black and black and white wires with snap connectors you should be able to get some idea of what is going on. If the break is too close to the rear glass you may have to replace the backlight if you want the demister to work, otherwise you may be able to splice what is there.
You realize that those wires from the glass actually have to pass through the rear screen rubber seal then through the rear bulkhead to their mating snap connectors--- Have fun in the boot won't you!

The rear window rubber has been changed recently, I think someone wasnt to carefull when putting it back in Evil or Very Mad
